High-quality printing starts with properly prepared artwork. Following these DTF artwork requirements helps DTF District produce sharp details, vibrant colors, clean edges, and professional-quality transfers.

Please review your artwork carefully before submitting an order. Your transfers will be printed using the file, size, and quantity you provide.

Preferred File Format

For the best results, submit your design as a:

• PNG file
• Transparent background
• 300 DPI resolution
• Created at the intended printing size
• Saved in RGB color mode

Other file formats should only be submitted when specifically accepted on the product page or approved by DTF District.

Use a Transparent Background

Your artwork must have a transparent background unless you intentionally want the background printed.

A white background is not the same as a transparent background. If your file contains a white box, colored background, shadow, border, or other visible element, it may be printed as part of the design.

Before uploading, check your design against a colored background to confirm that unwanted areas have been removed.

Submit High-Resolution Artwork

Artwork should be created at 300 DPI at the final printing size.

Increasing the DPI number after creating a small or low-quality image will not restore missing detail. Screenshots, social media images, website downloads, and enlarged thumbnails often remain blurry or pixelated when printed.

For professional results, avoid submitting artwork that is:

• Blurry or pixelated
• Taken from a screenshot
• Compressed or distorted
• Extremely small and enlarged
• Covered by a watermark
• Cropped incorrectly
• Missing parts of the design

Design at the Correct Size

Create and upload your artwork at the exact size you want it printed. For example, if you need a 10-inch-wide transfer, the artwork should be prepared at 10 inches wide.

Confirm all measurements before ordering. DTF District is not responsible for incorrect sizing selected or submitted by the customer.

The final height will remain proportional to the artwork unless otherwise stated.

Do Not Mirror Your Artwork

Submit artwork in its normal, readable direction. Do not mirror or reverse the design unless the product instructions specifically tell you to do so.

Our production process will prepare the transfer for application. Mirroring the file yourself may cause text and graphics to print backward.

Check Spelling and Design Details

Carefully review the entire design before uploading it. Confirm:

• Names and wording are spelled correctly
• Dates and phone numbers are accurate
• Text is readable
• Logos are current
• Colors are correct
• Design elements are properly aligned
• Nothing is unintentionally cropped
• No unwanted objects or backgrounds remain

Submitting an order confirms that you approve the artwork as provided.

Use Clean Edges and Solid Details

Artwork should have smooth, clean edges without stray pixels or unwanted outlines. Avoid extremely thin lines, tiny text, faint details, and low-opacity elements that may not reproduce clearly.

Small transparent gaps, distressed textures, smoke effects, glows, and soft shadows may print differently than they appear on a screen. Review these elements carefully before ordering.

Color Information

Computer monitors, phone screens, printers, fabrics, and lighting display colors differently. Because of these differences, exact screen-to-print color matching cannot be guaranteed.

For more predictable results:

• Create artwork in RGB color mode
• Use clear, solid colors
• Avoid extremely low-opacity colors
• Avoid relying on screen brightness for color accuracy
• Understand that fluorescent, metallic, glitter, and neon screen effects may not print exactly as displayed

Contact DTF District before ordering if precise brand-color matching is essential.

Black and White Artwork

Make sure black areas are solid and intentional. White elements should also remain visible in the file if you want them printed.

Do not delete white parts of a logo simply because they appear invisible against the transparent background in your design software.

Fine Text, Lines, and Distressed Effects

Very small text, thin lines, tiny dots, and heavily distressed textures may not print or adhere consistently.

For better results:

• Use readable text sizes
• Avoid hairline details
• Thicken extremely fine lines
• Remove isolated stray pixels
• Avoid tiny floating design elements
• Keep distressed areas large enough to print clearly

A design that looks clear when enlarged on a screen may not remain clear at its actual printing size.

DTF Gang Sheet Requirements

When uploading a completed DTF gang sheet:

• Build the canvas at the exact size ordered
• Keep every design inside the available print area
• Leave enough space between individual designs for cutting
• Do not overlap artwork
• Maintain the correct size and proportion of each design
• Use a transparent background
• Submit the complete sheet as one high-resolution PNG file
• Remove measurement labels, guides, grids, crop marks, and cut lines unless you want them printed
• Check all artwork before uploading

Anything visible in the submitted gang sheet may be printed. DTF District does not automatically rearrange, resize, correct, or remove elements from completed gang sheet files.

Gang Sheet Builder Orders

When using the online gang sheet builder:

• Upload high-resolution transparent PNG files
• Confirm each design’s dimensions
• Keep all designs within the safe printing area
• Leave enough cutting space between designs
• Review the entire sheet before submitting
• Make sure no designs overlap or extend beyond the canvas
• Confirm the total sheet size matches your selected product

Use the final preview to inspect your gang sheet carefully before adding it to your cart.

Artwork We Cannot Recommend

For the best printing results, do not submit:

• Low-resolution screenshots
• Watermarked images
• Files copied directly from social media
• Blurry or heavily compressed artwork
• Images with unwanted backgrounds
• Files with missing fonts or elements
• Designs containing extremely thin details
• Artwork you do not have permission to reproduce

Artwork Responsibility

Customers are responsible for submitting print-ready artwork and confirming the final size, spelling, colors, orientation, transparency, and layout.

DTF District may contact you if we notice an obvious technical concern, but we cannot guarantee that every artwork issue will be detected before production. Production delays may occur when replacement artwork or customer approval is required.

Artwork corrections, background removal, redesign, vector conversion, or other preparation services may require additional time and fees when available.

Copyright and Trademark Responsibility

By submitting artwork, you confirm that you own the design or have legal permission to reproduce it.

DTF District may decline artwork that appears to violate copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other applicable laws. Customers are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions before ordering.

Review Before You Submit

Before completing your order, confirm that your artwork is:

• High resolution
• 300 DPI
• Correctly sized
• Not mirrored
• Spelled correctly
• Free from unwanted backgrounds
• Saved as a transparent PNG
• Ready to print
