What are DTF transfers?

Direct-to-Film transfers, commonly called DTF transfers, are full-color designs printed on a specialized film and applied to garments using a heat press.

DTF transfers can produce vibrant colors, fine details, and durable results. They are commonly used for T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, tote bags, uniforms, and other compatible fabric products.

What fabrics work with DTF transfers?

DTF transfers work on many popular fabrics, including:

• Cotton
• Polyester
• Cotton-polyester blends
• Canvas
• Other compatible fabric blends

Because materials and garment coatings can vary, we recommend testing a transfer before beginning a large production order.

How do I order custom DTF transfers?

Choose the DTF transfer product that matches your needs, select the appropriate options, and upload your print-ready artwork.

Before submitting your order, verify the design size, quantity, spelling, colors, and artwork quality. DTF District prints the artwork based on the file and specifications submitted with your order.

What artwork format should I upload?

For the best results, submit a high-resolution PNG file with a transparent background. Artwork should preferably be:

• Created at the intended printing size
• At least 300 DPI
• Clear and properly cropped
• Free from unwanted backgrounds
• Ready to print
• Correctly spelled and arranged

Low-resolution, blurry, pixelated, or improperly prepared files may affect the final print quality.

Will a white background in my artwork be printed?

Yes. If your file contains a visible white or colored background, it may be treated as part of the design and printed.

If you do not want a background, upload a transparent PNG file and inspect your artwork carefully before ordering.

What is a DTF gang sheet?

A DTF gang sheet allows you to arrange multiple designs on one larger sheet. Gang sheets are useful for ordering several logos, sizes, names, or designs together while making efficient use of the available printing space.

Customers are responsible for checking the layout, spacing, resolution, design sizes, and spelling before submitting a completed gang sheet.

Can DTF District review my artwork?

If you are unsure whether your file is print-ready, contact us before ordering. Our team can help identify common concerns, such as low resolution, unwanted backgrounds, incorrect sizing, or poor image quality.

Artwork review does not replace customer approval. You remain responsible for confirming the final design, spelling, size, placement, and order details.

How do I apply a DTF transfer?

Our recommended starting settings are:

• Temperature: 320°F (160°C)
• Time: 15 seconds
• Pressure: Very firm
• Finishing press: 5 seconds with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet

Preheat the garment for five seconds, place the adhesive side of the transfer against the garment, press it, allow it to cool until warm, and peel the film carefully.

Heat presses and fabrics may perform differently. Always follow the application instructions included with your order and test when possible.

What are UV DTF stickers?

UV DTF stickers are full-color adhesive transfers designed for compatible hard surfaces. They can be used on many smooth materials, including:

• Glass
• Plastic
• Acrylic
• Metal
• Ceramic
• Other clean, smooth, nonporous surfaces

UV DTF stickers are not intended for fabric. Surface type, texture, cleanliness, and coating can affect adhesion.

How should I apply a UV DTF sticker?

Clean and dry the surface completely before application. Avoid touching the adhesive, carefully position the transfer, press it firmly onto the surface, and slowly remove the carrier film.

Do not apply UV DTF stickers to dirty, oily, wet, highly textured, flexible, or porous surfaces. Allow the adhesive time to bond before washing or handling the item heavily.

Does DTF District offer custom apparel?

Yes. We offer custom apparel printing for businesses, organizations, events, clothing brands, teams, and personal projects.

How long will my order take?

Production time depends on the product, quantity, artwork, customization requirements, and current order volume. Shipping time is separate from production time.

If you have a firm deadline, contact us before ordering. Requested completion or delivery dates are not guaranteed unless confirmed by DTF District.

Can I change or cancel an order after submitting it?

Contact us immediately if you need to request a change or cancellation. Orders may enter production quickly, so changes and cancellations cannot be guaranteed after an order has been submitted.

Additional charges may apply if production or artwork preparation has already started.

What should I do if there is a problem with my order?
